Hi,

I am new to ReportCaster.

We have a requirement in our project to get the list of reports executed by a user in the last 10 days.We are supposed to use ReportCaster for this purpose.

Can somebody advice how we can invoke ReportCaster from a java web-based application.Should it be done using Webfocus client?

Are you already able to create a report that gives you the executed reports per user?

If so, you can send that report by using reportcaster.

What is your main problem?

Creating the report or sending it with reportcaster?

My intention is to query and get the list of Reports from ReportCaster and display them in a web based application.

Is this more or less the same issue as posted with "Use Report Caster to get the history of reports"

search on this forum on BOTLOG

My main question would be What is the intended content of this report? Using the BOTLOGs will only give you the list of reports that have been executed through Report Caster. It will NOT give you a list of all reports executed by a user. You will need Resource Analyzer to get that information or use some other customized technique.

Once you have figured out where to get the list you need, you can just execute a URL with a WF servlet call from your java application that will send the report back to the user. Either way, the actual ReportCaster application does NOT appear to be part of what you really need. If you really do only want a list of jobs executed through RC, then those files can be accessed using regular WF and RC does not need to be invoked.

As for invoking ReportCaster from a java environment, there is a complete manual called Report Caster API Developer's Reference that you should refer to for this info. If you are new to RC the manuals (or perhaps a training course) are the first place you should be looking. Do a little homework and then we can help you out a little better.

Regards,

Darin
