Up until now we have been using the WebFOCUS Oracle and Netezza adapters.

We are now installing MS SQL Server. We also have a requirement to build WF reports against against MSSQL.

We are now considering if we should use the MSSQL OLE adapter or ODBC.

My DBA's are reviewing which would make the best choice.

Does anyone have any experience in making this choice, or have a preference?

I checked with Mark Nesson and he recommends OLE DB it has more robust functionality.

Thank you very much for checking with Mark.

I've attended several of Mark's Summit presentations, and could tell that he is a SME on many aspects of the WebFOCUS Reporting Server area.

I'll forward to my DBA's.

Once again many thanks.

Ditto with Mark.

The more native the adapter the better utilisation of the functionality and SQL generated.
