I haven't seen here, on FP, about Mobile Faves lately, last was on 10/6/16 or 1/24/17 (depending on it being referenced as 'faves' or 'favs'.
So, is Mobile Faves still the best choice to use for accessing portals, etc, for remote access?
OR, just use a URL that goes to ibi_apps...?

Cannot confirm 100%, but I've been told (because I was also looking to have remote BIP access) that Mobile Favorites may "disappear" from the product in a future release...

Is that only a rumour ?... Maybe, but I decide t not go with that to be sure not to have to redo everything...

Doug

This is what I got from product management. Mobile Favorites is still alive and well.

As of Release 8204, the Mobile Favorites folder was merged in with the Favorites folder and all existing Mobile Favorites can be found there. Here is some more information on this change:

“As of WebFOCUS Release 8.2 Version 04, the existing Mobile Favorites folder on the WebFOCUS Home Page has been merged with the Favorites folder. Existing Mobile Favorites from previous releases were migrated automatically into the Favorites folder and given a localized Mobile Faves tag. To add new favorites in the app, right-click the item and click Add to Favorites. Then, click the Favorites folder, right-click the item you want to view in the Mobile Faves app, and click Properties. In the Properties pane, click the Advanced tab and enter FAVES in the Tags box. Once you save your changes, these items will be displayed on the Mobile Faves launch page.”

As for the app, the Mobile Faves app was rebranded for iOS as the WebFOCUS app in February. You can find it by just searching for “WebFOCUS” in the Apple store. Here’s a link to the updated content:

https://webfocusinfocenter.inf...4/mobilefave_ios.pdf

The new app supports the existing Mobile Faves interface, and introduces the new Home Page interface if you are connecting to an 8204 or 8205 environment. You can find more information on that in chapter 2 of the linked PDF.

Chuck, is it possible that icon description for Watched items on page 31 & 32 are inverted ?

For me an opened eye mean "watched" and an eye with an X on it mean "not watched" (closed eye), not the opposite as stated or am I misunderstanding ?

Has anyone created a new link in Mobile Faves in WebFOCUS Release 8.2 Version 04?

I've not yet gotten that to work even after adding 'FAVES' as a tag. If so, what did you do beyond that in the document mentioned above?

Doug

I don't have a way to connect up to my vmware with the WebFOCUS app but I do see my favorites from a browser. All I did was right mouse click on the report I wanted and selected Add to Favorites.
