Hi Team,

I've run across an interesting and new-to-me concept called topic maps. They are a little like dimensions, although the point is that they are non-hierarchical by design. They are a little like WebFOCUS Magnify, in that they allow searches and also provide a higher level of analysis and categorization beyond the search. They are also used to deliver a mix of data and objects (documents, photos, video) through the same interface.

My question is, has anyone worked with Topic Maps and WebFOCUS before? Let's say we have an XML feed for the topic map indexes, how do I visualize it? I'm thinking a tag cloud is close, although not the whole picture. I found some tiny vendors that offer visualization products, but wonder if something can be done with WF technologies instead.

Thoughts and feedback is appreciated.

Cheers,

Joey
