How to bold one sentence within a wrapped paragraph in PDF?

I have a paragraph of text and one of the sentences in the paragraph should be bold. The sentence will wrap from one line to another. I tried using MARKUP=ON, but it doesn't work once the text gets wrapped to the next line. Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong here? Is there a different approach I should be taking?

DEFINE FILE CAR
BLOCKTEXT/A600V=
	'This is a string of text being used to determine how to format a section of text. <i><b>I am having issues when the formatted sentence in the paragraph wraps onto another line. </b></i> It works for the first line, but nothing after that.';
END
TABLE FILE CAR
BY  LOWEST CAR.COMP.CAR

ON CAR.COMP.CAR SUBHEAD
"<BLOCKTEXT "
WHERE CAR.COMP.CAR EQ 'AUDI';
ON TABLE SET PAGE-NUM NOLEAD
ON TABLE NOTOTAL
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF
ON TABLE SET HTMLCSS ON
ON TABLE SET STYLE *
$
TYPE=SUBHEAD,
     BY=1,
     STYLE=NORMAL,
     WRAP=8.000000,
	 MARKUP=ON,
$
ENDSTYLE
END

I would open a case with I.B. Tech Support. This looks like a bug. I would upload the example fex and the PDF file.

Francis,

Thanks for the reply.

I should have mentioned that my first step was to go to tech support because as you said, this seems like a bug. However, the person with tech support informed me that WRAP just isn't able to correctly handle MARKUP and that was all there was to it.

In my mind, WRAP and MARKUP should not cause an issue like this, so I decided to go to Focal Point to see if anyone here had any workarounds that could handle it.

I believe that the line break for the wrap is the piece that will be affecting the output.

A VERY untidy workaround is to bold/unbold on a word by word basis, WRAP does not break during a word(hopefully).
BLOCKTEXT/A600V=
	'This is a string of text being used to determine how to format a section of text. <i><b>I</b></i> <i><b>am</b></i> <i><b>having</b></i> <i><b>issues</b></i> <i><b>when</b></i> <i><b>the</b></i> <i><b>formatted</b></i> <i><b>sentence</b></i> <i><b>in</b></i> <i><b>the</b> </i><i><b>paragraph</b></i> <i><b>wraps</b></i> <i><b>onto</b></i> <i><b>another</b></i> <i><b>line.</b></i> It works for perfectly like this.';

Messy I know but a couple of functions on the text should get this together.

break it into 3 parts.
ON WHATEVER SUBHEAD
"<PART1<+0><PART2<+0><PART3"

and then handle in the stylesheet
TYPE=SUBHEAD,BY=WHATEVER,ITEM=2,STYLE=BOLD, $
i don't think pdf handles html instructions as anything other than text.

RSquared - It's for a subheading.

Alan B - That was what I thought would be a last resort. As you said, it's really messy, but it definitely works.

susannah - I tried that (splitting the paragraph into three lines, removing the HTML code and using the
   ON WHATEVER SUBHEAD "<PART1<+0><PART2<+0><PART3"
in the report, but I could never get anything besides the first value to print. It wouldn't matter if the first part was PART1, PART2 or PART3, that was the only sentence that would appear. I didn't include the stylesheet command, but I didn't think that would have any impact on the text appearing at all, right?

Yeah, if you decrease the wrap and use susannah's suggestion in pdf format, each part wraps in its own "section"

make them 3 lines, rather than 1 text box
