HI All when i created the Excel File around 270MB . I am not able to transfer this file to my Webserver. So i want to break the file at the time of the Table creation.I want to break my file through webfocus with some Threshold value . is it Possible ? Gobinath I do not know if there is a function to do this. In cases like this I always need to ask "why".... What can one do with a 270MB excel file. In most of the times the receiver of this data bomb is willing to do some programming himself, creating subsets, building graphs and a lot of other things than could be done by WebFocus without downloading so much data. So instead of answering your question I post an advice....please don't do this...

Gobinath, there have been posts here describing how to split a file into parts. BUT, I agree with frank, Why. Once split how do you expect some one to use this information. Understanding the requirements would help. Waz...

Gobinath, I fully agree with the above. If you have to generate a file that big, it should be a work file from which users can extract their punctual data. When providing on-line solutions to users, in my opinion, the best is something that doesn't have more than 3 pages. We are not any more into 100-page fanfold zebra printouts. hi danny , I have a doubt..Gobinath might FTP the file to the users local drive right?? The report output gets stored as a file of size 270 Mb.. I am sure none of the users will open the 270 MB file and look at the data...It will be pointless. They might be using the locally stored file for some other purpose..??? Sounds to me like this is some kind of extract for users to report from. Our Oracle database has over 400 tables and is still growing. Users would never get the JOINS right so we build daily and weekly extracts with the data they need. However, we leave them as .FOC and .XFOCUS files on the reporting server. In FOCUS since 1985. One thing to bear in mind is that when WF creates an "Excel" file, it is not true Excel internal format and when saved as a "real" xls the size will often decrease by around 60%. So this 270Mb file could be in the region of 100Mb, but you would have to identify what the "real" format is when it is 270Mb. T
