Hello,

Can anyone help with this problem.
I want to print a column heading based on a value of a file field.
Example
if the Period_of_time is a Y
Print Total_amt AS " YTD total"

if the Period_of_time is a M
Print Total_amt AS " MTD total"

All help is appreciated.

You will have to play with the stylesheet...
you can put conditions in there..
Here's an example of changing data color.
TYPE=DATA,COLOR='RED',ACROSSCOLUMN=N1,WHEN=PTD_AMOUNT LT 0, $

In Focus since 1993. WebFOCUS 7.7.03 Win 2003

Would something like this work for you?

TABLE FILE CAR
SUM
RETAIL_COST AS ''
BY
BODYTYPE NOPRINT
ON BODYTYPE SUBHEAD
"Total for: WHEN BODYTYPE EQ 'CONVERTIBLE';
ON BODYTYPE SUBHEAD
"Total for: WHEN BODYTYPE EQ 'COUPE';
ON BODYTYPE SUBHEAD
"Total for: WHEN BODYTYPE EQ 'HARDTOP';
ON BODYTYPE SUBHEAD
"Total for: WHEN BODYTYPE EQ 'ROADSTER';
ON BODYTYPE SUBHEAD
"Total for: WHEN BODYTYPE EQ 'SEDAN';
END

I assume you are selecting the TIME FRAME as a parameter, if so, something like this may work...

TABLE FILE CAR
SUM SALES AS '&PERIOD_OF_TIME.. total'
BY MODEL
END

Let us have more info and a better solution may be forthcoming.

Regards,
Paul.
