anyone having any luck with ACROSS-TOTAL?
it creates subtotals of columns but then the grand ROW-TOTAL is DOUBLE the proper value. Argh!
TABLE FILE CAR
SUM SALES OVER SEATS
ACROSS CAR AS ' '
ACROSS MODEL AS ' ' ACROSS-TOTAL AS 'Mtot'
AND ROW-TOTAL AS GRAND
BY COUNTRY
END

ah! Noreen just explained it to me;
first, dont use Row-Total with Across-total.
Second,
ACROSS CAR AS ' ' ACROSS-TOTAL AS 'grand'
ACROSS MODEL AS ' ' ACROSS-TOTAL AS 'Mtot'
.. the first acrosstotal is the replacement
... for row-total. you need to use both.
... ah! now i get it.
