In a nutshell, Analyser collects information, and Governor uses rules that can be based on the information to control the requests.

They both do collection. Analyzer provides out-of-the-box analysis reports from the collection data. Governor controls report execution based on rules generated from the collection data.

Also, Governor is a preemptive Governor. Meaning unlike most Governors Resource Governor Evaluates the request before it is set to the RDBMS etc. Unlike DB2's Governor which kills the request once the limitations have been reached. Resource Governor can save tremendous amounts for DBMS time, thus allowing it to process only valid requests.

In the Resource Management Configurations, we've an option of "Create Repository" and we can select yes/no. Does Create Repository refer to the use of existing Repository that was created when the WebFOCUS client was installed, or a whole other set of tables meant specifically for Resource Management

Thanks

Hi Annieye2286,

Welcome to Focal Point!

The "Create Repository" option in the Resource Management configuration creates a set of tables meant specifically for Resource Management. They are separate from the WebFOCUS Client Repository.

Cheers!
