Everyone,

I might need to check with IBI on this task; however, I'm going to post here as a starting point. I'd appreciate any suggestions.

I'm coding our Usage Report behind the scenes, and I need to pick up a static parameter created on the parameters tab of the html page. I need to pick up the result whenever the user selection for that dropdown box changes. So, for example, I've created a static parameter on the html page with three choices as follows:

1-Sales by Dollars
2-Sales by Units Sold
3-Sales by Salesperson

Inside my fex, I have a IF-THEN statement that looks like this:

-IF &REPORT_TYPE EQ '1' THEN GOTO DOLLARS ELSE IF &REPORT_TYPE EQ '2' GOTO UNITS ELSE GOTO SALESPERSON;

Each section of the report is, of course, in the fex and separated by the labeled identified above.

In my usage report, I need to know how to pick up the report type and display it.

Will that static parameter be stored in the rml or rmldb tables for me to pick it up somehow?

I need to change my profile, but I'm working in 8.2

How does you UsageReport is called ?

Is it an -INCLUDE prior to do anything else in the MyReport fex ?
Something such as
-* MyReport fex

-* Call The Usage Report process
-MRNOEDIT -INCLUDE app/MyUsageReport.fex

-IF &REPORT_TYPE EQ '1' THEN GOTO DOLLARS ELSE IF &REPORT_TYPE EQ '2' GOTO UNITS ELSE GOTO SALESPERSON;

-* Dollars report process
-DOLLARS
…
-GOTO XEXIT

-* Units report process
-UNITS
…
-GOTO XEXIT

-* Salesperson report process
-SALESPERSON
…
-GOTO XEXIT

-XEXIT

If so, it's just another fex that can receive parameters as usual

You probably already figured this out, but I should have mentioned this is for a usage report in Resource Analyzer.

If I understand your answer, I ought to be able to call it similar to any other parameter.

So, I ought to be able to code my usage report to pick up report type as an option. I'll try it unless you have a different suggestion.

You mentioned :

and it was my assumption, now your talking about Resource Analyzer, not the same thing. Possible that RA is not knowing your &REPORT_TYPE parameter

I am not using RA, but a home made usage db & report.

Thanks for the input.

It sounds as if we might want to check in with IBI on this as it's a custom made usage report using rml and rmldb, not a custom database.

Thanks.
