I am sure this is an easy question... Smiler

How can I control where a report is placed within an Excel report? I am producing multiple reports on the same tab in Excel, but they are being placed one below the other. I want to place them one beside the other with an extra column separating them. Thanks.

DJ

Unfortunately that is NOT an easy question. The easy answer is either you can get them on multiple tabs, or you get them one below another. Without using an Excel template there is not a way to place multiple reports beside each other. Look up Excel templates in the documentation and see if that could solve your problem.

One little tip... if you are using Excel 2007, make sure the templates feature will work for you before starting on this endeavor...

Wishful thinking on the ease of this request. Frowner

I am going to hope the client is willing to accept the reports as is. I appreciate the insight and will have to delve into the use of templates further.

Thanks.

If they have a common field:

DEFINE FILE CAR
CCM/A50=CAR|COUNTRY|MODEL;
END

TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT

SALES

BY CCM
BY CAR
BY COUNTRY
BY MODEL

ON TABLE HOLD AS HOLD1
END

TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT SEATS DEALER_COST

BY CCM
BY CAR
BY COUNTRY
BY MODEL
ON TABLE HOLD AS HOLD2
END

JOIN RECNO IN HOLD1 TO RECNO IN HOLD2
DEFINE FILE HOLD1
SP/A1=' ';
END
TABLE FILE HOLD1
PRINT CAR COUNTRY MODEL SALES SP AS '' CAR COUNTRY MODEL SEATS DEALER_COST
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXL2K
END

IF THEY DON'T HAVE ANY COMMON FIELDS CREATE ONE

DEFINE FILE CAR
CCM/A50=CAR|COUNTRY|MODEL;
END

TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT

SALES
COMPUTE RECNO/I9=RECNO +1;

BY CCM
BY CAR
BY COUNTRY
BY MODEL

ON TABLE HOLD AS HOLD1
END

TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT SEATS DEALER_COST
COMPUTE RECNO/I9=RECNO +1;

BY CCM
BY CAR
BY COUNTRY
BY MODEL
ON TABLE HOLD AS HOLD2
END

JOIN RECNO IN HOLD1 TO RECNO IN HOLD2
DEFINE FILE HOLD1
SP/A1=' ';
END
TABLE FILE HOLD1
PRINT CAR COUNTRY MODEL SALES SP AS '' CAR COUNTRY MODEL SEATS DEALER_COST
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXL2K
END
