Dear All,

I am not able to change the password of the admin user in webfocus 7.6.8.
I notice also that I am able to create a new user in MRE. But as soon as i give him schedule rights or library rights i am not able to save it without getting any error message.
Is this a bug in this release?

Regards.

There could be several reasons, Are you using Report Caster (is the error a report caster error). Do you or the id that is running as the webserver id have write access. What is the error message?

Check your security settings for MRE in the WebFOCUS Administration Console.
Compare them from your 7.65 environment to your 7.68 environment.

You could try editing user.htm.(D:\ibi\WebFOCUS76\basedir\user.htm)
Try creating a test user with the password you want for the admin account.
Copy the encrypted password over to the settings for the admin.

<A HREF='test.htm' NAME='test' MRFLAG=',email=' PASSWORD='1184e839c27edb581bc' ROLE='#AnalyticalUser'>test</A>
<A HREF='admin.htm' NAME='admin' MRFLAG='rcadmin,robot,library,email=' PASSWORD='1184e839c27edb581bc' ROLE='#MRAdministrator'>Default Administrator</A>

I'm not sure if this will work.

Hi,

This works. But prior to that i have compared the password enrypted by the old version 7.6.5 and the one encrypted by 7.6.8 one and they are not the same.
I have created the test user with the same password as admin and open user.htm and replace the password with the new one.

I hope that you aggree that this is crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks
