We are planning to upgrade our server from Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008.

Have there been any problems running Webfocus 7.6.2 on the 2008 version?

Bob

It would probably work but I would suggest you wait until its officially certified by IB, since you are running at your own risk otherwise.

Also WS2008 may have problems all of its own and a lot of sites wait until at least SP1. Would not go for it unless there is an overriding new feature you need.

Regards

John

Thanks John... I'll take your advice and stay with Windows Server 2003 for the time being.

It is always best to wait for certification from Information Builders. Notice of Certification for new Windows release usually shows up "What's Hot" or "Product Announcements" sections on the InfoResponse web site (http://techsupport.informationbuilders.com). It is often also part of the New Features documentation.

Windows Server 2008 is just out. I did a dry run installation of WebFOCUS on one of the Windows Server 2008 Release Candidates, and didn't have issues running basics reports. However, I would not bet the farm that I wouldn't encounter issues if the version hasn't been certified.
