Not sure if this is the right area to ask this - but I trying to create a page on a portal that has multiple graphs that interact with each other.

Much of my experience has been with a different product - but in that product - you can add multiple graphs to a page and they automatically will connect- doing a Cascading Selection Filter or a Cross Filter.

So if one of those charts are a Bar Graph and the other is a line graph - if one clicks on a Bar in the Bar graph - it highlights that Bar (or greys out the other bars) and applies the same selection on the Line Graph by highlighting the selected line while greying out the other lines.

Both Graphs are from the same source table.

Is this possible in InfoAssit+ or Web Focus 8.2?

Yes this is standard functionality in Infoassist+. In InfoAssist+ you can select an area on a graph or point on map and choose to filter with that value or exclude it from the result.

It's also possible to do this with a small dataset in Active reports (active Dashboard)

But In your case InfoAssist+ is the way to go I think.

Just to clarify Frans answer a little is that you have to be creating a visualization and filter on the first chart and it will apply the same filter to all the other charts.

I was aware that in an InfoAssit+ report you could perform the filter. However - the behavior that I am looking for is if you apply that filter/selection in one chart - you have the ability to have that same filter apply to other charts on that same page.

Is that possible using InfoAssit+?

If you're doing this in a BI Portal page, then create a drill down on the chart and choose Refresh BI Portal. When you do that, all assets that have in the portal that share the same parameter will get the value you click in that chart effectively making the drill down a filter for the portal page.

If you're in Visualization, then all charts on the page are effectively tied together and when you filter one chart it'll effect all other charts in the visualization.

Sounds like the Visualization route is the closest to the behavior I am looking for - I am working with some other team members to identify why I do not see "Build Visualization" in the list of options.

The BI Portal Page with parameters being passed and then manually clicking the Refresh BI Portal is a solution that is too complicated for some of our users. I subscribe to keeping less clicks and make it as easy as possible for the end user.

This is a design time operation, not one that your users would have to do each time they want it applied. So not what you think and also not the overhead I think you may be assuming.

When you are creating the drill-down on your chart, you should see the option on how you want the drill-down to behave. You can affect just the page on which your chart appears or all pages.

Not something I've done recently so not fresh in my mind, but I'm sure Babak will jump in and give a further explanation!
