Yes even though I did do a refresh on the synonym for the original acvadvr master it did not take. Deleting and recreating it did solve the issue. Thanks Francis!



I want to write to a slq server table nightly that removes the information from the table and then does an add of the data nightly.

In testing I am starting with just writing to the database fist and the following is the code I am using to write to do this

MODIFY FILE ACVADVR
FIXFORM FROM ADVRHOLD
MATCH Pidm
ON NOMATCH INCLUDE
ON MATCH UPDATE StudentID MAJRAdvr SDSAdvr STERPAdvr OASAdvr CAREAdvr ATHLAdvr LoadDate
DATA ON ADVRHOLD
END


when I run this I get the following error message.

(FOC437) THE FORMAT USED WITH THE FIXFORM IS INCOMPATIBLE WITH THE DATA FORMAT
BYPASSING TO END OF COMMAND

I've checked and all the data elements in the .fex match those in the table. Can anyone help with what this error message may be hinting at.

The type and/or length specifications on a FIXFORM element is not
compatible with its format attribute. For example, the error
occurs if a FIXFORM has COST/P4, and COST is described as D8.2 in

Did you compare the fields in the masters of ACVADVR and ADVRHOLD?

Also, why does the title of this post mention "SQL Syntax error"?
