I'm posting this just as an open forum on any limited functionality anyone has encountered while using SQL translator. I created an .ftm using SQL with all alphanumeric fields except for a date field which is defined as YYMD in my .mas. I then use an INSERT statement to add records to the file based on variable the user passes (there are edits in place to in the .htm so users can’t enter erroneous information. Everything seems to work fine except for the date 07/28/2014. This is the only date that doesn’t seem to work. The way I understand it and I believe the vendor documentation also supports this, but WebFocus should read date formats YYYY-MM-DD or YYYY/MM/DD and should be entered into the file and reported as a date. It seems to be just that one date and everything is working fine now, so there is really not issue. Not sure if it is this situation is a calendar issue or not?
I just wanted to see if anyone else has seen any limitation with using the SQL translator. Disclaimer - for all I know, this could have been an operator error…
