Hi,

It is almost impossible to get decent training in the UK on mainframe focus. I have an issue that I cannot solve, and am afraid that if I post a question on this forum I will be told off as often happens to people who cannot find decent training.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for books perhaps that cover free form reports using mf focus? All of the books I currently have do not cover the topic in any detail or are for more recent webfocus.

Thanks,

J.

You should be able to find documentation on the IBI website for mainframe FOCUS. If you are doing free form reports, you might want to look at heading-only reports or resume-type reports and see if that is something that would meet your needs.

FOCUS for Mainframe Version 7.3

This URL provides you with links to PDF or online documentation from Information Builders.

The Creating Reports manual has sections called "Creating a Free-Form Report" and "Designing a Free-Form Report".

If you have to do something more intricate than the manual describes, please do not hesitate to post your question - some of us are less rude than others.

Cheers,

Francis

Thanks Francis, I had already gone through the documentation you mentioned, was hoping there are some pdf somewhere I was missing ><.
The report is one I need to maintain / change and was written in '94, seems there is no suitable documentation so I will open a case with IBI and see if they are able to help.

Thanks.

J.

Please email your training requirements to UK_Education@ibi.com - IBI have a range of course curriculums available for both MAINFRAME/Character FOCUS and WebFOCUS. In addition, we have extremely experienced Profesional Services Consultants whom could be utilised to assist with sepcific issues.

Kind Regards,
Paul.
