Hi all

I was trying to print a group of TABLE FILE out put into one page of PDF. My experience with PDF in WebFOCUS is very Limited. When i tried with NoBREAK as we do it for EXCEL. i got error that NOBREAK is not supported. When i removed the NOBREAK the reports are printerd in multiple pages (one TABLE FILE output for one page).

All my TABLE FILE are unrealeted to each other. When i went through other topics on PDF compunding i found no answers for this issue.

Any one have ever come accross with this kind of situation. Please help. Any Suggestions will be helpful.

Regards
Robin

Have you looked at the PDF Layout Painter?

Try SET COMPOUND=

Example
SET COMPOUND=OPEN NOBREAK
TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT MODEL
WHERE RECORDLIMIT EQ 10
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF
END
SET COMPOUND=NOBREAK
TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT CAR
WHERE RECORDLIMIT EQ 10
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF
END
SET COMPOUND=CLOSE
TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT MODEL
WHERE RECORDLIMIT EQ 10
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF
END

Release: 7.7.03
OS : Linux

Thanks Ginny and dcarrio, For your valuable inputs.

I was stuck with another report. dcarrico your code works but one issue. When I do a compound in Excel the data in each TABLE FILE will be close together looking as a single report. Incase of PDF it is printed with spaces between each table file.

My report is bit complex where I display the Grand total,SUB total and Report data from three different Table files Smiler. That too in a nested Repeat for each grand total, Sub total

The excel o/p looks fine but PDF not good.

I would opt for Ginny's suggestion.
You create the several separate pdf reports and then build the compound report with the available tool.
This gives you the ability to position the several reports on one or more pages at the top, bottom, left or right. Include a company style logo, ad page numbers etc. Much better than just the just the simple SET COMPOUND (it works, but not as nice as you would like.)

There is a (digital) manual available that might give you some help on the details.
Do a search on this forum.

Thanks Frank.

I will check that out. It seems the report requirement is changing and we can find a better solution after analysing the CR.

Thanks all for helping me out Wink
