I need to create a report which should be able to display in any format(say HTML,PDF or Exl). How do i do tat?

You will have to receive a value in a &variable and use some dialog manager to choose the output. Assuming the variable name to be &OUTPUT, the simplest form would be to have the following in your fex:

ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT &OUTPUT

where &OUTPUT would have values HTML, PDF, EXL2K

These are very basic things in WebFocus. You really should attend a course before starting to work with the product. If that's too much, then you should at least study the 'Getting Started' documents that IB provides. Or get a copy of the Creating Reports manual or the WebFOCUS Keysheet.

Well, that's only the first question that needs to be asked, and has an easy answer. If the reports are all very simple, then that's pretty much it. If you get into very complex formatting, using images, complex stylesheets, drilldowns, etc., then things may change completely. For example, an image or logo on a report is not produced the same in an HTML-only document as in a PDF. Drilldowns in PDF/Excel may require additional code that HTML documents do no require. Spacing in HTML documents is not preserved like it is in PDF. Some functionality like HEADLIGN and COLSPAN have no effect in PDF.

So there really is a lot more you need to know about making a report work the same in any output besides just changing PCHOLD FORMAT HTML to PCHOLD FORMAT PDF. Training and documentation are the necessary starting points.
