I have a report in WebFOCUS (version 5.24) that I'm trying to get the across values (essentially column headings) to change text direction from horizontal to vertical. The report is being output to Excel. I know how to do it in Excel, but there must be a way to set that parameter in a stylesheet. Any ideas on how I might be able to do this in a style sheet?

To my understanding this cannot be done in Excel via WF, it can only be done for HTML.

Here is a link for HTML:

You could use an Excel template. Put the styling (vertical text) in the Excel template and then push the Excel output through that template.

I just tried it on one of ours and it worked just fine -- not sure if there are any issues with doing an across in this manner, so take it with a grain of salt. But basically if you can get the styling into the right cell in Excel, you should be able to do it.

Thanks everyone for your comments. All good ideas. Unfortunately the report I was hoping to create in excel now needs to be in PDF, so looks I'm out of luck on this one for the time being given we're working with 5.24 and won't be upgrading to 5.7 until mid-2007. Thanks!
