Hi All,

I have a compound report with 50+ reports and it takes more than 4 minutes to generate.
The problem i have is, in production server, there is a time out set for the incoming request and it is 2 minutes and i get a "Bad Gateway" error. So i am trying to find an alternative solution for this issue. And i can think of solutions like email scheduling or deffered report generation.

Any feasible ideas are appreciated.

Do you know where the time is spent? DBMS or Client? If the time is mostly spent on the DBMS side, maybe you can cache the data you need for these 50 reports and run the compound report using the cached subset of the data. How many TSCOM's do you start on the reporting server?

Maybe some of those reports could be drill downs so you aren't truing to generate so many at once.

Thank you for using Focal Point!

Only one TSCOM is started when i run the report.
Most of the time is spent on DBMS side and for this report already i am using a summarized table.Even though i mentioned 50+ reports, actually i have 70+ reports and this number may increase in future.Individual reports run fast(~5 seconds) since i am using summarized data and there are lots of styling information as well.
Caching data seems like an idea ,but i would go for other alternatives if there are.

Hi,

I appreciate the suggestion to make some of reports as drill down, but client is not willing to change this requirement.(even the styling).
The reason i was going in the direction of scheduling report(deffered report) is because, only few people(~5) will generate this compound report.
