I have the report output in PDF format
I have placed 4 fields/items in subhead. I am able to identify individual items and changethe style/color of an item. But not able to add borders to individual item.

Is there any way we can place border for individual items?

Unfortunatly, you cannot add borders to individual items in a heading, footing, subhead, subfoot, etc.

For PDF documents, you can create borders in HEADINGs and FOOTINGs if you use GIF files. Create two GIF image files each containing a line - one horizontal and one vertical. The length of the image is not important as you will adjust it in WebFocus. Put the two images in your IMAGE folder. Below is a code sample which creates a box in the HEADING.

TABLE FILE CAR
HEADING
""
PRINT COUNTRY NOPRINT
ON TABLE SET STYLE *
UNITS=INCHES, PAGESIZE=LETTER,
TOPMARGIN=0.250000, BOTTOMMARGIN=0.250000,
LEFTMARGIN=0.250000, RIGHTMARGIN=0.250000,
FONT=ARIAL, SIZE=8, SQUEEZE=OFF, ORIENTATION=PORTRAIT,$
$ USE THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES TO DETEMINE SIZE AND POSITION OF LINES
$ POSITION=(DISTANCE FROM LEFTMARGIN - DISTANCE FROM TOPMARGIN),
$ SIZE=(WIDTH HEIGHT)
$ A BOX
TYPE=HEADING, IMAGE=Hline.gif, POSITION=(3.25 4.16666), SIZE=(2.000 0.015),$ TOP OF BOX
TYPE=HEADING, IMAGE=Vline.gif, POSITION=(3.25 4.00) , SIZE=(0.015 2.000),$ LEFT SIDE OF BOX
TYPE=HEADING, IMAGE=Vline.gif, POSITION=(5.25 4.00) , SIZE=(0.015 2.000),$ RIGHT SIDE OF BOX
TYPE=HEADING, IMAGE=Hline.gif, POSITION=(3.25 6.00) , SIZE=(2.000 0.015),$ BOTTOM OF BOX
ENDSTYLE
ON TABLE SET PAGE NOPAGE
ON TABLE SET ONLINE-FMT PDF
END
