We are currently migrating from WF7 to WF8 and for one of the reports that we moved to 8 I am getting an error that I cannot seem to find the cause of.
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server: [08004] The server principal "CAMPUS\edaadmin" is not able to access the database
"fred" under the current security context. [] Deferred prepare could not be completed.

It sounds like there is something wrong with how security is set up, but we cannot find what. We put the security settings the same as they are in WF7 (on both the WebFOCUS and SQL Server sides)and the report itself is identical to WF7 as well. I am able to run the report perfectly fine in WF7. It is just in 8 that I am getting this error.

Hi Nathaniel,

Try this command from SQL Server Management Studio:

ALTER DATABASE YourDatabaseName SET TRUSTWORTHY ON;.

WebFOCUS App Studio 8103
Windows7

Thanks for the reposnse diogopc,

Unfortunately that did not help us in this scenario, but we did find out that the username that is requesting access to the database is not the one that we expected. We found that there are some settings in 8 that we do not remember in 7. There is both IBI_Repos_DB_User and IBI_Repos_DB_Password. Which I think are being used at the credentials to access the DB, which we definitely do not want. If this is what these setting are for then I need to figure out what settings will allow the DB connection to use the logged in user's credentials.
