Newbie here.

I have a need to take data out of one Oracle table and put it into another Oracle table. I know how to do this with SQL. My question how do you accomplish the same thing in Webfocus code. I don’t have any problems. I just want to know what commands to use to get the job done.

Do you have access to the Reporting Server Console? If so, you can use either Quick Copy or Custom Copy to accomplish this.

Alternatively, you can write a WebFOCUS request that has the answer set you want and add

ON TABLE HOLD AS tablename FORMAT SQLORA

You can use SQL PASSTHRU to accomplish that. Using this you write your code in SQL and then use FOCUS the execute.

You could also use MODIFY which is something developed by IB to Insert and Update DB.

Or even use
TABLE FILE "myOldOracleTbl"
...
ON TABLE HOLD AS "myNewOracleTbl" FORMAT SQLORA
END

WF versions : Prod 8.2.04M gen 33, Dev 8.2.04M gen 33, OS : Windows, DB : MSSQL, Outputs : HTML, Excel, PDF
