Hi All,

My client recently moved from SAP Business Objects to WeFocus 8.

I am new to WebFocus, i know that there is no direct tool/Methods to convert Business Objects to WebFocus.

Can some one explain the process of migration, how can i convert my BO Reports to WebFocus.

Thanks.

Hi GPKumar,

You would need to first understand the report design of BO report (Including the data source, data design, report launch page, filters, grouping, sorting etc.).
Once you document everything, you need to implement similar logic in WebFOCUS too. This process is basically redesigning the report into another tool. There is no direct method available to migrate. Recently I worked on Migrating Crystal reports to WebFOCUS. Let me know if you need some more information.

Thanks,
Pravin Singh

Hi,

You need to understand both the tools architecture and functionality. You need to have complete knowledge on WebFOCUS features/functionality/capability.

Next start understanding the filters/query logic/business logic/presentation types.
There could be several method to access data layer. You may also need to check on report rationalization/consolidation.

BO Universe can be replaced by WF Cluster Master Files/Business Views. On top of these master files, you can develop individual reports.
