have not been using iSeries for a couple of years
but I suppose the APP HOLD command will do it for you. Have a look in the doc.

Make sure your path is part of the APP PATH or use APP MAP to define it. FILEDEF the file you want to save and use ON TABLE SAVE AS filename instead of ON TABLE HOLD
