Possibly with a TARGET=target-name tag in your drill-down style-sheet code.

You can also use TARGET=_self
which will print the drilldown over the parent and the user has to use the back arrow to run the next report.

Hi Patricia,

I already tried TARGET=_self, but the requirment is to keep the main report. Is there a way to control the window for the drill down to only one. I posted this issue in IBI technical support but I haven't got any solution from them.

Try launching the main report in an html page with a frame to hold the drilldown report.

Noel,

Does my suggestion not work?

TABLE FILE CAR
SUM
SALES
BY COUNTRY
ON TABLE SET STYLESHEET *
TYPE=DATA, COLUMN=COUNTRY, FOCEXEC=CAR1 (COUNTRY=COUNTRY), TARGET=WINCAR1, $
ENDSTYLE
END

Francis,

It worked! Every time I clicked on the drilldown it refreshes the second window. The other thing that I noticed is when the second window is minized and the user click on the drilldown the second window doesn't pop up. Is it possible that every time the user click the drill down it will pop up the second window?

Thank you all for the suggestion.

Noel

You can add the following JavaScript in the drilldown report to bring the drilldown window to the front:

<script type="text/javascript">
self.moveTo(0,0); // Move window to the top left corner
self.resizeTo(screen.availWidth,screen.availHeight); // Resize window to the available screen size
self.focus(); // Bring window to the front
</script>

Here's how to use this:

-DEFAULT &COUNTRY = 'FOCNONE';

TABLE FILE CAR
SUM
SALES
BY COUNTRY
BY CAR
BY MODEL
WHERE COUNTRY EQ '&COUNTRY'

ON TABLE SET STYLESHEET *
TYPE=DATA, COLUMN=COUNTRY, FOCEXEC=CAR1 (COUNTRY=COUNTRY), TARGET=WINCAR1, $
ENDSTYLE

ON TABLE HOLD AS H001 FORMAT HTMTABLE
END
-RUN

-HTMLFORM BEGIN
<script type="text/javascript">
self.moveTo(0,0); // Move to the top left corner
self.resizeTo(screen.availWidth,screen.availHeight); // Resize to the available screen size
self.focus(); // Bring window to the front
</script>

!IBI.FIL.H001;
-HTMLFORM END

You don't have to use all three JavaScript command, the minimum would be self.focus();
