Hi Team,

IA8 is really impressive, especially the sub-query feature. I can see an opportunity to replace a lot of WebFOCUS Ad Hoc launch pages with IA dashboards and dashboard controls. In fact, after playing with sub-query for days, I realized that I don't need Reporting Objects to prepare my data for my users; I can do it right in an IA subquery. This has the double-benefit of bypassing the limitation of InfoMini not working with Reporting Objects, assuming that limit still exists in WF8. InfoMini is very important, because of slicer chaining behaviour, which leads to my question.

I see that I can cascade dashboard controls, but I think it works hierarchically, like WF HTML Composer. Slicers can filter non-hierarchically, which is more flexible and thus more desirable. Is there a way to cascade dashboard controls non-hierarchically, or is there a confluence between dashboards, dashboard controls and slicers that I should explore? If so, how do I start? Can I embed an InfoMini report on a dashboard and still broadcast filters from Dashboard controls?

I feel like I could do skip InfoMini entirely if I could have a non-hierarchical cascade for my dashboard controls.

Cheers,

Joey

I agree IA8 is merely impressive..it's features are truly dynamic and favorable to use also.

Joey,
Nothing has changed on the Active Dashboard Prompts. You either have completely separate filters that apply one at a time or you set a preset cascade order like HTML Composer. You can have multiple sets of filters, but they will not work at the same time. It uses the last set you interact with.
