If your talking about basic reporting, look up squeeze.

SQUEEZE
The SQUEEZE parameter applies only to the StyleSheet feature.

It determines the column width in report output. The column width is based on the size of the data value or column title, or on the field format defined in the Master File.

The syntax is:

SET SQUEEZE = {ON|OFF|n}
where:

ON
Assigns column widths based on the widest data value or widest column title, whichever is longer.

OFF
Assigns column widths based on the field format specified in the Master File. This value pads the column width to the length of the column title or field format descriptions, whichever is greater. OFF is the default value.

n
Represents a specific numeric value, based on the UNITS parameter setting, to which the column width can be set (valid only in PDF and PS).

Also can do individual columns:
COLUMN=PRODUCT, SQUEEZE=2.5, $

User1 :

With due respect, you have been a member of this forum since September 5 of this year, and say that you have recived no training. You have posted 31 times in the last 17 days, mostly with simple requests that would be solvable with some training and/or looking into the online documentation.

The forum is full of helpful folks - fortunately most of whom are not crusty old guys like me - but I think you are wearing out your welcome to the WebFOCUS family. We have had a couple of other situations in the recent past where the gurus simply stopped answering questions, and I sense that you are getting close to the line already. So I urge you to take the appropriate training and RTFM !

you have a $ as the first character of the command line. that comments out the command line in a stylesheet.

a nice feature , b/c you can add comments AFTER your style sheet stuff to explain what you're doing and why, a nice feature when your stylesheets are hundreds of lines long.
