I have a field called HDCHGDT that is in HYYMDm format. I want to convert it to YYMD format. I'd like it to be a new define field called CHGDT. What would the formula need to be in the Define Field section? This message has been edited. Last edited by: Kerry,

Have you tried looking at the documentation?
Using Functions > Date and Time Functions > HDATE: Converting the Date Portion of a Date-Time Value to a Date Format

No. I tend to avoid eye contact with documentation. As a child, my mother was killed by a documentation street gang and I have never recovered. Thanks for bringing up this painful memory.
Also, thanks for pointing out the correct function.

Benji, welcome aboard. A suggestion for you. Check into the (well worth) $25 purchase of the "(Almost)1001 Ways to Work With DATES in WebFOCUS." book. Many of us have found it well worth the investment. Good Luck. Ira.
