I have a report which has to show values based on the columns selected .for eg in a table there are three columns c1,c2,c3
and there is HTML filter page to the report where in a dropdown has all the values from the above table i.e., c1,c2,c3 if the user clicks c1. the report should sum up the all values of c1 and then display the summed up value.Let me know in case this can be done

Yes, it can be done. You are looking for a "Highly Parameterized Report". Maybe searches on that topic will help you.

Or you can check out the code in the ibinccen directory. Most of those reports are highly parameterized and are good examples.
