I have a question for those of you that have 7.6.8 installed. I noticed a little quirkiness when using the browser back button and selecting among different group views. Once I log into BID, my group views are displayed. I select my first group view and it displays the correct dashboard, but if I use the browser back button and select a different group view, it displays the same dashboard.

The address bar displays the correct path when you select like aa_gbv or ab_gbc and so forth. If I use the “views” link, that works fine, it’s just when I use the back button in the browser. The other option is to log off of BID and log back in to select a different group view. This works fine in 7.1.4. I am using I.E. 6.

I do have “goToPersonalViewOnLogin” set to false in the bid-config.xml. I opened a case and they told me it was a functional change in 7.6.8 to force users to use the “views” link at the top. It’s kind of hard for me to accept this, since it’s a natural instinct for an end user to use the browser buttons to switch between group views.

Can anyone verify this in their environment? Maybe there is something night quite right in my setup or maybe it is a functional change.

Thanks

When I log in to BID, I get a page that displays links to different dashboards, like Marketing Reports, Accounting Reports, etc

We have 7.6.8 I see little different behavior. I get list of dashboards select one. Then hit the back button. I get a warning that the page has expired. I refresh then get my list of dashboards again. If I select a different one I am then presented with that dashboard.

Maybe check you WF_Cookie_Expiration? Mine is set to 0 so it does not expire.

Not sure if it has anything to do with the way it behaves for you.

Matt,

Your problem is to do with cookies. When you first select a group view it sets a cookie and completes the login process. This cookie contains the group view. When you hit the back button and select the second group view, Managed Reporting doesn't log in again - because the cookie is already present - and you get the first group view.

If you look at the page source for the first selection page and the views page you will see the difference.

Cheers

Stu
