Hi friends,

We are going to migrate off the mainframe database to oracle database by next week.

So, I am here to get suggestions from you on what needs to be particularly take care of in this migration process or after the migration from my side as a Web FOCUS developer.

Right now the existing master files will be migrated from mainframe to oracle as such but we are going to have new reports on our way which needs master files to be created. So, please let me know how to create MFDs and ACXs against Oracle data sources for reporting.

Thanks for any assistance.

Teju

You create mas and acx files (metadata) by logging in to the WF reporting server console. Click on the Adapters section. Select the appropriate Oracle adapter connection (previously added by your administrator), right-click and choose Create Synonyms.

But if you already have mainframe webfocus masters I would suggest you only have to change your adapter and/or the Acx files.
This of course only if the fieldnames and pictures of the oracle database are the same as the mainframe data fields
