Is anyone else experiencing difficulties attempting to copy/paste multiple files using App Studio? We often are trying to copy an .htm launch page and its corresponding .fex file from our Pre-Production environment into PROD. App Studio (8104) does not allow us to do this. (We just downloaded the latest version, to no avail)

We can copy/paste files one-at-a-time in App Studio, or use the /ibi_apps/ "Welcome to WebFOCUS 8" web site to accomplish this task, but not App Studio. Is this a known bug?

Thank You, Mark Lora

Hello,

You should definitely be able to do copy multiple files at once. When you try (by shift-selecting multiple items, then right clicking Copy, then right clicking Paste) what happens? Are you unable to select multiple items at once? Is the Copy option unavailable? When you hit Paste do none/only some of the items get pasted?

I do recall a customer reporting an issue like this in an earlier version of App Studio (when pasting, only the first item that had been selected would be pasted), but while attempting to pinpoint the source of this issue they reported that the problem had stopped, and they were once again able to paste multiple files at once. Unfortunately because of that I don't know why they had this problem in the first place or how it was fixed.

What is your case number?

Emily,
I am the user at the university that has reported this issue. What I'm seeing is if I use SHIFT-select then I can copy multiple files, but when I use CTRL-select, it doesn't work. SHIFT-select is great, but a shift select is not always what I want or need. (For example, if I have 5 files I want to copy and they aren't all in order, then I would need CTRL-select)

It seems to me in the time that I've used AppStudio 8.1.0.4 that the software can't interpret the CTRL key. For example, using CTRL-S to save my fex files rarely works in either the GUI or text view. (On many many occasions I'll be working in App Studio--saving frequently using CTRL-S and seeing the * disappear in the toolbar denoting that it has actually saved--then have AppStudio crash and find that none of those saves actually succeeded.) The ONLY way I can get consistent results from the software is to use the Save or Save As from the AS icon menu.

Thank you for helping us track down the problem.
Scott
