Can I hold columnwise subtotal in the hold file?

The easiest way to display a subtotal in a file is to use two sentences. The first gets the total for the main sort field, and the second gets the details that were summed. e.g.
TABLE FILE CAR
SUM RCOST
BY COUNTRY <- The totals for Country
SUM RCOST
BY COUNTRY BY CAR <- the detail by Car
ON TABLE HOLD
END
