Hi,

I have some questions regarding the Change Management Extract Utility.

I understand the GUI, and the process of creating a package by dragging and dropping objects and saving package on server. I want to know what backend modules are being executed during this process and if they can be run outside of the GUI. I'm working on WebFOCUS 766 version installed in AIX with client and server installed in same server.

The goal here is to run this extract utility as a command line by specifying all the required arguments in the command line or an input file, for example:
extract_package <input file parameters>.

Understanding what modules or utilities are being called behind the CM extract GUI, may help in this effort.

I'd appreciate any help I can get.

Thank you.

Hi wfuser,

Has this issue been resolved?

You may want to check this manual:
WebFOCUS Managed Reporting Administrator's Manual, Version 7 Release 6.1 and Higher (DN4500809.0909)

Chapter 10 covers all this in detail:
IBILoadRepos Usage
The underlying program that loads change packages into a Managed Reporting Repository
is written in Java and is contained in the WebFOCUS76/utilities/cm/IBILoadRepos.jar archive
file.

Cheers,

Kerry

Hi Kerry,

Thank you for replying.
I still haven't found a solution to this.

I read about the IBILoadRepos usage in the document. Do we have an equivalent of this for the extract process - that we can call with some params?

I noticed that when we click on the change management extract link in the ibi welcome page, it opens up a jsp file - wfcmextract.jsp

Can we call a web service or a JAVA API that'll allow us to create an extract package?

please let me know your thoughts on this.

Thanks
