by accident i discovered something that Textpad does. We all know about 'FIND IN FILES' for searching all your fexes for some character string.
Well, guess what! when that list comes back, giving you fexname, line number and the line text,...
if you click on the fexname in that list, it opens in textpad, and goes directly to the line in question, and lets you edit and resave.
How cool is THAT!!!!
Ok, who already knew that? 'fess up.

Since the mid 90's so does UltraEdit and about 10x more stuff. It will even hook into your favorite compiler. As a life time member, I get free upgrades for life for the $60 I paid in '95.

Did you know Windows also can search for text within files?

...but since WF8 the fexi are no longer just files. They're stored in a database.

No more searching in files.

( but you can query them... )

Editplus - This feature is available in Editplus for ages now. I am a constant user of Editplus for FEX files.

We even have done scripts in Editplus for Syntax highlighting and color changes for Fex codes.

Thanks,

Ramkumar.

I am in a similar situation, but I edit in the external editor (Editplus), and it can be so much better in some ways.
