I'll try to explain as best I can:

I am currently upgrading my reports/html pages because we have upgraded the database so all reports need to be fixed to work with the new tables, fields, addresses, etc. When I am clicking through the html pages (via hyperlinks) to get to the reports, the characters "&REMOTE_USER=joeshmo" populate at the end of the web address. When I then run a report from that html page, I get a kerberos authorization error. If I then remove the "&REMOTE_USER=joeshmo" from the address, hit enter to refresh, and run the report, it runs as expected. From what I can gather the page is claiming one username, mine is another, and something involved (WebFOCUS or web browser, etc.) is not liking the mismatch.

This Remote User was not being added on the end of the addresses before the upgrade. I suspect a user added it for their convenience in testing/upgrading and now it is being added to my files as they go up to production.

When I open the properties of a report link from an html page in developer studio, check the path, then hit OK, it prompts me to create the REMOTE USER parameter. If I uncheck this, it seems to solve it but for future development, and in case of forgetting to do it, I would like this to be gone. Also, it seems I have done this process of unchecking the parameter but it seems to make its way back in after being promoted to production.

While in developer studio, in the html editor, if I click on the Parameters tab at the bottom it shows an unbound parameter box. In that box it has two ovals. One has 'REMOTE_USER' in it and one has 'Internal' in it.

I spoke with the user listed as the REMOTE_USER and they sort of told me they don't know what happened. They claim this is not effecting my reports even though when its there, the reports don't work, when I delete it, the reports run.

Does anyone know how to get rid of this REMOTE_USER parameter for good so it will not show up in my pages and prevent my reports from running?

Thank you!

Someone had added their username as the default remote user value in the site profile thus affecting every developer's reports.
