Hello Focusian Brothers and Sisters,
I've bought a wonderful HP TouchSmart for private use, and, as usual, I reinstalled my marvellous FFW Six Power Edition.
But then, Windows 7 x64 refused to handle this 16 bits Application.
My youth (or, rather, maturity) is flying away. It'll soon be time I retire (Snif)

"FFW Six Power Edition" - I'm not surprised that this antique will not work. I am not well versed in Windows, but you may be able to get a free Microsoft Virtual Machine (or whatever it's called) and then run an antique version of Windows to support the antique version of FOCUS...

Later versions of windows are not supposed to support 16 bit apps any more.

What Francis is saying is get you self VMWare or something like that, and install inside.

What happened when you tried to install ?

What happened to 'Compatibility mode'? Right-click executable and choose version of Windows to run as. Windows 95, maybe?

Bonjour,
There's a market for space invaders rom using an old emulator, and my dream is there's one for FFW Six.
Dude, My version is a Collector.
Thanks to them who gave me professional advice to this Unprofessional Request.
Francis, as often, gave a very good advice.
This Version Pre-'Register Base' just needed a correct .ini, so it's over a decade I last 'Installed' the Product.
The Compatibility Mode, I had tried before (No DOS 3.6 option, alas) told me that I should contact the seller for a more recent version.
Which I did that -silly- way ;-).
Cordially and Focusely
By the way, Please re-Read 'Le petit Prince' by Saint-Exupery. About the big red faced guy who has no time to speak to the 'Petit Prince' "I've serious things to do".

I've got Focus for DOS kicking around somewhere - also Focus for DOS Multiuser! Yes, such a thing did exist. We used until recently something called WebFocus Desktop Administrator (c1999) - but it was nothing to do with a web server - just ran on a local PC.

Dosbox is a DOS emulator (for Linux, anyway). Can't recall whether there was a Windows version). Maybe it runs here?

My first application was developed using PC FOCUS for DOS 1.5 multiuser using a Compaq 286 as the Novell file server and Sync Machine with 4MB of memory. We had 4 Compaq 286 workstations with 1MB of memory. At that time PC FOCUS did not support expanded or extendend memory so getting MODIFY with CRTFORM to run was magic. When PC FOCUS 2 came out we were able to add expanded memory to the workstations so thing became a little easier.

I still have our first Sync Machine in my basement - an IBM PC with only 640K of conventional memory. We used Wyse PCs as workstations. There was an unusual memory card available called a MAXIT that allowed all the unused bits of memory between 640K and 1 meg to be consolidated into useable memory. COMMAND.COM and the network drivers could be moved up into this previously unavailable area so that PC FOCUS, after COMPILING (!) and COMBINING would run in the conventional memory areas.

Let's see...
IF PFKEY EQ 'PF09' GOTO TOP

Does that still exist in mainframe ??

Yes I learned FOCUS from the Primer. I used a teletype to enter my code. We used the time sharing service Tymshare in 1979. I literally just threw out all the FOCUS for DOS and PC Focus floppy disks last week. I've been hauling them around with me for decades.
