Hi,

I need the date format which is in HYYMDS format and of length - 17 to be converted to this format :

Old format in the output for a date column(ABC) is 2016/05/19 22:00:00

I need the output to be displayed as May 19, 2016 10:00:00 PM.

Tried using CHGDAT function but not getting the desired output.

Could anyone please let me know how to do this?

Thanks!

When you print it why don't you just set the format as HMTDYYIA?

I.E.

TABLE FILE MY_REPORT
PRINT
DATE_FIELD_HERE/HMTDYYIA
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT HTML
.
.
.

I'm sure Vivian would appreciate your post Ricardo Smiler. Do you own the book, if so how often do you use it?

I bought the $22 version, for v7, and the book is more confusing than the date conversions.. Someone had to write a book on how to convert dates for a language, then that means IBI should look at making this a bit more simple.

When I started out, one of the guys I worked with had 1001 ways to work with dates, and it was great to use. Now I don't miss it. I can find everything I need anyways.

I've retired from writing WF code after 30 years(training to be a flight instructor now), but I frequently consulted the "Almost 1001 ways to work with dates" book. It's a useful tool, but I was often frustrated by the design of the book. It has too much text crammed onto every page and the illustrations are often on a different page than the accompanying explanations. Printing the book in a larger format would seem to be part of the answer, as well as fleshing out the explanations a lot more.

Just my 2 cents ....

I agree!

I think companies and organizations that use WebFOCUS would be justified in hiring a full-time WebFOCUS date specialist.

And no, I wouldn't want that job!
