I've got a portal page with several bar charts, each one created by a separate .fex with several amper variables. The portal also includes an html launch page that controls some of those amper variables. I want my "Reset filter" button to reset all amper variables to their default values, but I'm having no success.

The charts all share the same amper variables, and when you click on a bar on one of the charts to drilldown, it passes that value to all of the other charts and they refresh with the new value. eg, if you click on a specific Department, all of the charts are now filtered by that Department.

The html controls several of the amper variables. For example, you can select a Year and all of the charts are further filtered by that value. In other words, I can first drill down to a Department within a chart, and then filter by Year from the html and all charts will only display that Department's data for that Year. All good.

The problem: I want to have a Reset button that will return everything to its default value. So far, I've only got it to reset the variables that are on the html form. How do I get it to re-set default values for the drilldown variables in the charts? The amper variables used in drill-downs are originally set via -DEFAULTH assignments in the .fex's--they're not part of the .html.

I did try adding them to the .html as hidden control boxes, hoping to re-assign them to default values when the reset button is hit. No luck--it always seems to retain whatever was the last value set by the drilldown.

Is there a way to pass values from the .fex to the .html in order to reset defaults? Or, would I essentially have to re-load the whole page? I can certainly post some of my code, or more specifics. But any push into the right direction would be much appreciated!

The re-execution of the charts will automajically update the values of the variables within the drilldown code (stylesheet / focexec line).

The drill-down does seem very automajic, I'll agree!
However, I want to re-set back to the pre-drilldown values, which are the -DEFAULTH values that I originally set in the .fex (all _FOC_NULL in this case).

How are those controls, the ones that need to be reset, populated in the first place, upon initial display of the parm page?

The ones that I'm having trouble re-setting are the amper variables that are assigned within each fex.
for example: -DEFAULTH &DEPARTMENT=_FOC_NULL;

This variable doesn't currently have a control, it only gets changed using the drill-downs. Is there anything that can re-set all amper variables (or alternatively, re-load the page with the defaults)?
