Dear Developers

i am using W.F 7.1.3 and i have to generate report as Alert like following:

scan database for Specifid value.
if that value is exist then generate Required Report and Distribute it via Rcaster.

my Environment as Following:

W.F Reporting Server 7.1.3
DataBase: MSSQL Server2000
OS: WinXP/SP1
W.F.DevStd 7.1.3
W.F Client 7.1.3
Web Application: NewAtlanta 5 Configured with IIS

i apreciate if you support me with sample report to do it

i see some technique to count number of record that retrived from database via &LINE
and make IF &LINE GT 0 view the report Else Display blank.but i am still test it.

but i need to know how to make this check with in report Caster.if there is result destribute report Else Dont destribute

Q,

At a previous shop, we used the pre and post execution procedures in Report Caster to set and check for flags. Sorry i don't have a code snippet, but check into using the pre and post execution procedures to test for your values.

Hi Kevin

i got the flag name from info response assistance. it is &&KILL_RPC.we add this flag on pre procedure with condition like following:

-SET &&KILL_RPC=IF &RECORDS EQ 0 THEN 'Y' ELSE 'N';

and it is working fine and smoothly.
