I am trying a PDF component report. But the 2nd report is not coming... I cut and pasted your code into our 7.6.2 MRE world and had to take out the APP HOLD statement for it to run. Not to experienced with compound reports, When it ran I got a page per country with counts side by side. Where are you running from? The APP HOLD seemed to cause issues in finding the HOLD1 file to start. Is that your main issue? Sorry not more help here. Leah | |||

1. i am running in normal environment not MRE 2. yes dimension is dimension is left/top order 3. don't consider the header stuff...jst... 4. the hold1 getting printed...while Hold2 not getting printed... Well it is working for me in 7.6 and I am sure that I had v. similar working in 7.1 but cannot check as my 7.1 has gone. Alan. WF 7.705/8.007 | |||

So, what you mean is that you are running your fex direct from Dev Studio within the Application folders as held on the reporting server. Well, I've just run this and both reports come out fine. T

Report 1 alongside report 2, no problem. Are you not getting one on the left and one on the right of each page? T

Works as expected on 7.1.6. Try removing the APP HOLD statement. You may also try changing ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF to ON TABLE SET ONLINE-FMT PDF. Works either way for me, but i've seen instances with compound PDF reports where the last report was missing one way and not the other. I am getting the same result as focuszambit. The report does NOT work as expected in 7.1.3. The second report does not show up. This was probably a bug that was fixed in later releases. (Prod: WebFOCUS 7.7.03: Win 2008 & AIX hub/Servlet Mode; sub: AS/400 JDE; mostly Self Serve; DBs: Oracle, JDE, SQLServer; various output formats) | |||

Tony : The one on right is not coming. Darin : i removed APPHOLD and also checked with ON TABLE SET ONLINE-FMT PDF, but only left one is coming. any more work-around... thanks! Sam, Looks like an upgrade should be on the cards to 7.1.6 as it's not too great a leap and you've read the posts regarding some of the experiences of 7.6.n. As Darin has reported no problem with this PDF "anomoly" and his profile shows he is on a similar set-up to yours - with the exception that he is on 7.1.6 - I would try and persuade your PTB to upgrade to that version (7.1.6 that is  ).If you raise it as a "bug" with IB they would probably encourage you to upgrade particularly after seeing the comments here, but my personal preference would be to only upgrade to 7.1.6. I seem to remember some odd behaviour with creating compounds in the past. To my recollection this was caused by the intermediate hold files within the compound structure. Just out of curiosity, what happens if you move the intermediate holds to a place before the compound statements? So, first do the hold1, then do the hold2, then specify your compound layout and fill it with the tables off of hold1 and hold2. Does this make any difference at all? GamP

I seem to recall that we actually had several issues on 7.1.4/7.1.5. I don't remember whether or not they were related to Sam's problem, but we landed at 7.1.6. You should be able to plug that version in withou any significant changes. The move to 7.6.x is a little more drastic, (what I would call a MAJOR upgrade) so don't go there without some planning first.
