Terry

If the adapter connection is set up with Password Passthru the user ID and Password received fromthe client will be passed to the database. So whatever the user logs into WebFOCUS with must match the oracle user / password combo

thanks Chuck. Our connection usage is a little different. Our connection is explicit with a utility id. But in Oracle, a connection has a session attribute called ClientID and the ClientID can be set to a different user id string.
For instance, we want to define a connection "CONN1" connect explicit with tnsnames=DBSIDENTRY, userid=UTILITYID, and hashed password. Then, we need to set CONN1's connection session value for CLIENTID=abc01002.
Just wondering if this possible somehow.

I don’t think that is an option but you should open a case with techsupport to verify
