Hi,

I thought I am getting better in WebFocus until I ran in to the below issue. I assumed it to be simple but some how I am stuck at it since some time. Would appreciate help/suggestion.

For this chart, I take the month and year values from the user and show them a trend chart for the data for that month and 5 months before. It shows separate lines for each agency across the month/year.

I need to sort using the defined column "CUSTOM_MONTH_YEAR" which has values (Feb-2018,Jan-2018, Dec-2017..) , instead of column "CUSTOM_YEAR_MONTH_INT" which has values (201802, 201801, 201712..).
But obviously the months do not appear on the order of occurrence unless I use the "CUSTOM_YEAR_MONTH_INT". I tried to include the INT column too and NOPRINT it, but that messes up the chart.
How do I get the desired sort result.

Below is the shorter version of my code.

What is the format of your MONTH_YEAR column? I think if you use standard date formats you can translate a month number to the month name and it'll sort properly.

CF_MONTH_YEAR/A10. Sample value : Jan - 2018.

I am using A10 because user wants "MMM - YYYY" format.

Sandeep,
Try using your numeric month, ACROSS CUSTOM_YEAR_MONTH_INT NOPRINT and change GRXAXIS from 1 to 2...

Probably won't work changing the GRXAXIS; should be able to use CUSTOM_YEAR_MONTH_INT NOPRINT as the 1st ACROSS statement, done this many times...

Tom,

I made the changes as you suggested. Code below. But now each line for each agency appears after another. The lines are not stacked. Users don't want it this way. Also the CUSTOM_MONTH_YEAR just appears for the first line/agency.

I'm sure someone, maybe me, will jump in if you can duplicate this using one of the ibisamp files, GGSALES?.

Good morning Doug! Eeker

Okay, I know I didn't fix the chart, but I'm not sure what the real data is, but here is a sample file to work with. Heading off to work now.

Sandeep,
Don't use ACROSS, use BY for GRAPHs:

SET ASNAMES = ON
DEFINE FILE GGSALES

Don, thank you for converting it to GG Sales.

Tom,

I tried with BY and Across and their combinations. It does not give the desired result. Using CUSTOM_YEAR_MONTH_INT with BY or ACROSS creates Lines for each Agency for range of Months on X-Axis. Then it repeats for other agencies and the month range repeats on X-axis. What I need is the lines to be stacked as they would if I just use CUSTOM_MONTH_YEAR. Frowner
