Our Peoplesoft database will switch to a new upgraded database server soon.

Should I change any WF setting to be aware of/pointer to the new database server? How?

Thanks.

In general, WF uses the metadata you create to access your data. The metadata is a combination of a .mas and .acx file with the same name. For instance, orders.mas orders.acx. The .mas file describes the columns and their format and any additional descriptive information you put into things like TITLE= DESCRIPTION= attributes. The .acx tells WF exactly how to access the data. It contains the CONNECTION information you provided when you configured the ADAPTER. If the data you are accessing has moved to a completely different location/server/ip address, then you will need to reconfigure the Adapter connection to point to the new one. If there are additional columns or tables, you'll have to also update the .mas and .acx files. So, the short answer is it depends on what is going to change when you upgrade PS. Is the table structures going to stay the same? Is the server location going to change? Depending on what changes you may have to update one or all settings in .mas, .acx and/or the configuration of the connection to your data.

The simple answer is if there is no change to the tables, etc, then just change the adapter on the WebFOCUS reporting server to point to the new DB server.
