I have a local SQL Server 2008 database on my PC. How can I create metadata for this database on my localhost? Can someone help me on this? I created for Access db. this sql db has no user id or pwd, goes with windows authentication.,

MSSQL 2008 is accessible through the 2005 interface.
When you create the connection use Password Passthrough.

I tried the same. It says server does not exist or access denied. for server name i gave local host and for default database i gave database name An suggestions on this?

If you're pointing to your local MS SQL Server database from a WebFOCUS reporting server that's not on your local machine, then localhost cannot be used - try the computer name. In fact, open SQL Server Enterprise Manager and take a look at the name of the server - that's what you should be using - whether the WebFOCUS reporting server is local or not...
