[CLOSED] DEFAULT Value issues in FEX as IFRAME EXECUTION

I'm not sure why this is so hard for me, I feel like I've done this before, but am coming up a little short.

I have an HTML launch page that points to a FEX. The FEX has a PROMPT for a date, and the HTML launcher has a text field that is bound to that variable (all normal stuff so far). I want the contents of the FEX to show today's information (by default) and use the date field as a way to show those results on demand.

It seems like Date variable will load properly when run via MRE (Dev Studio) but when called as an iframe execution parameter, it always returns space. Maybe this is due to how Dialog Manager variables work in that execution environment (DEFAULT and PROMPT are ignored?)

Can someone tell me how to do what I am trying for? THANKS!!!

A simple example. Again, the goal is to show default values on first load, but allow user to override and run for the date passed. I'm sure I am missing something simple.

I would force the variable to whatever default you need in the first run.

-SET &FAILDATE = IF &FAILDATE EQ ' ' THEN &YYMD ELSE &FAILDATE;

I think the issue you have is that you need to populate the date variable, except it has &YYMD in it ?

Where are two ways to do this.

1. Add something like javascript to the form to populate the variable.

2. Create a fex that includes the HTML page within -HTMLFORM tags.

e.g.

FILEDEF LAUNCH DISK c:\ibi\apps\{app folder}\{html page}
-RUN
-HTMLFORM BEGIN
-INCLUDE LAUNCH
-HTMLFORM END

If the files are in MRE, then I don't think this will work.
