I have a strange problem. There is a PDF file dumpped in a drive. In the report launch page i have region 100, 200, 300 and 400. When i click on 100 a specific PDF file should open. Until this my code is working fine.

The problem is this PDF file updates every month. But if any one has opened the PDF file i am not able to update it in the drive. Is there any way in which this problem can be resolved.

Does this have something to do with WebFOCUS in some way?

I would imagine that the file gets locked when another user opens it - as good a guess as any. You don't mention any platform or OS in you profile (and there is no version 7.4.1 for WebFOCUS.) so other than the fact that we don't know what your WebFOCUS question is, I don't know if we can help much.

Darin

When you say "i am not able to update it in the drive", do you get an error or is it that when the users open the file it is still the old one.

Could this be a caching issue ?

You could always update a version...say you call it 100_update.pdf.

Then set up another job which uses the DOS copy commands to copy the 100_update.pdf to 100.pdf. If this job is set up to run frequently it would be a matter of time until no users have the pdf open when it can be updated. not the best but its off the top of my head Smiler
