We have an environment where we submit '.bat' files from our z/OS system to a WebFOCUS Win server which kicks off a report caster job (of course this is the condensed version). What is needed is a way to capture any FOCUS errors in the Return Code field to pass it back to the .bat file or the log which the .bat reads (actually a program in the .bat). Has any one done this? Can't seem to find much on the return code and what I found was not what I was looking for. Thanks in advance.

Instead of &retcode, can you please try using
&FOCERRNUM

Thanks, we currently do use FOCERRNUM as a check and are planning on passing it to the return code. Some issues, it gets reset if something successful happens, I told our 'developer for this part' perhaps it would be a good idea to save the value. At issue is with our OPC scheduling package and getting all in sync as we only have our WebFOCUS application on the Windows box. For example, last night our DB2 system decided to go 'out to lunch' and our OPC system though all was okay with several of the jobs as our current process didn't work. Don't know in this case if a new one would either.
